I am so excited for Christmas! And even more than that all the parties you get to go to. I went shopping for my Christmas party wear this week. A bit late I know. I looked in high street and boutiques to find something amazing. H & M had some gorgeous sparkly blazers and some festive red turtle necks that took my fancy but the blazer was too wide on me. It was difficult to find something in my size wherever I went. I am a slim guy and didn’t find much in Topman. There was a velvet blazer there but again it was too big on me. I went to a boutique in Cork and found a green number but it was too mature for me and made me look like an English aristocrat!
I haven’t shopped in River Island for ages. But I went in search of something worthy of an invite to a shindig. And I did find this audacious jacket that looks like it came from a crocodile but it has black and gold running through it. I loved it it was youthful, elegant and cool. I chose a black shirt and black pants with it. And then I just paired it with brown shoes I had at home.
I know Anna Wintour from Vogue isn’t a fan of all black. But I personally love being decked out in black it really makes a statement. And it goes perfectly with my platinum hair. I put some product in my hair and it really helped with the overall look. The best place to look for party wear is high street like some of the shops I mentioned and definitely check out your local boutiques. Online is probably even better though.
I saw velvet, tweed, glitter, color and double breasted numbers. Don’t be afraid to go all out for the Christmas season. This is the time to show off, have fun and be playful. Unlike when your at the office and have to be formal. But always be comfortable and wear something that makes you confident.
I picked something that I felt was me and that’s why I loved it. Style is different to everyone and if you are not being yourself people sense that. So be you. I know these photos are a bit dark but I lightened them as much as I can. And I was working with natural light in my house! They look sort of arty hopefully. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all citizens of Deyn’s World.
