Based on the best selling books by Dan Brown this is the third installment in the Da Vinci Code trilogy. Tom Hanks reprises his role as symbologist Robert Langdon in the new trailer for Inferno. When Langdon comes to in an Italian hospital with amnesia he must retrieve his memories with the help of his trusty companion Dr. Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones).
A case involving Dante needs solving that takes the duo around Europe. They must work together and figure out clues in order to stop a madman from releasing a virus that would wipe out half of the global population. Oscar winner Ron Howard directs this fast paced mystery-thriller.
Hanks gives his character real depth as the ever brillant Langdon. And there is excellent casting featuring Felicity Jones who appeared in “The Theory of Everything” and will star in the upcoming “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” The last two movies “Da Vinci Code”, in 2006 and “Angels and Demons”, in 2009 didn’t do fantastic at the box office. The “Da Vinci Code”, made $218 million from its $125 million budget. While “Angels and Demons”, didn’t fair much better taking $133 million of its $150 million budget.
Critics also gave the last two films a lukewarm reaction. But sometimes fans and critics can be divided. Have you read the books by Dan Brown? Do you think the trailer gives too much of the plot and the storyline away?
